Day-to-Day Substitute Teacher |
A Day-to-Day Substitute Teacher requires an from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
This permit authorizes the holder to serve as a Day-to-Day substitute teacher in any classroom, including preschool, kindergarten, and grades 1–12 inclusive. The holder may serve as a substitute for no more than 30 days for any one teacher during the school year, except in a special education classroom, where the holder may serve for no more than 20 days for any one teacher during the school year. This permit is valid for one year and is renewable.
You decide which daily assignments work best with your schedule. You can work any day of the week and at any level/s (elementary, middle, or high school) of your choice.

Long Term Substitute Teacher |
A Long Term Substitute Teacher is authorized to teach more than 30 Days for any one teacher during the school year. It requires a Single Subject Credential, Multiple Subject Credential or an Education Specialist Credential depending on the subject the individual will be teaching.
If the educator does not hold one of the credentials listed above, SRVUSD can apply for an from the CTC. This permit allows SRVUSD to fill a position where the teacher of record is unable to teach due to a statutory leave with a temporary teacher of record for the duration of the leave.
Responsibilities and Duties include:
Lesson planning, team collaboration, grading, parent/teacher conferences, and other site base needs.
Note: An SRVUSD TPSL permit also acts as a which allows the educator to be a Day-to-Day Substitute Teacher only in SRVUSD.

SUBSTITUTE WEB-BASED SYSTEM: Smart Find Express
SmartFindExpress
The ¶¶ÒôÒõapp Unified School District has implemented SmartFindExpress (SFE), an on-line alternative to the substitute calling system. Substitutes can now review and accept substitute jobs through SFE. Teachers may record their absence and request a substitute through SFE.
As a substitute: To use SFE, you will need to know your Access ID/User ID number and your Personal Identification Number (PIN). If you are having difficulties logging in or have forgotten your Access ID/User ID, please email Jessica Harral.
As a teacher: To use SFE, you will need to know your Access ID/User ID number and your Personal Identification Number (PIN). If you are having difficulties logging in or have forgotten your Access ID/User ID, please contact your school office manager.
Please note: The system will not allow zero to be the first number in either your Access ID or your PIN.

SB616 Sick Leave Request Form
Sick Leave for Substitues can be requested by submitting this form:
*Forms must be submitted no later than 2 days after the absence.
* You are eligible for the first 3 sick leave days after 120 days of employment. After 200 days of employment, you will be eligible for 2 more days which gives you a total of 5 sick leave days in a school year.
